About the Firm

Tonya is a fierce and passionate advocate who understands the impact of criminal charges on the person charged and their loved ones.  Tonya patiently listens and takes her time to ensure her clients understand what is happening with their case and helps them understand the court system.  She dedicates herself to obtaining the best possible result for her clients and gives their matter the full attention that is required.  Further, Tonya understands the discretion that is necessary when dealing with sensitive charges that could affect a person’s reputation and livelihood.

 

Tonya was born and bred in Toronto.  She completed her undergraduate degree with a Specialized Honours in Sociology at York University.  She left home and completed law school at the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan.  After graduating, she returned to her hometown and articled at Legal Aid Ontario and worked at two highly respected law firms in Toronto before starting her own practice.

 

She has represented clients with charges from all over Ontario, from Toronto to the far north in Thunder Bay.  She has represented clients on serious charges such as sexual assault, human trafficking, drug trafficking, and firearms offences.

 

Tonya has experience arguing numerous types of motions at both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice.  Tonya knows the importance of understanding the Charter and how it relates to your matter.
